Hanging trade sign from
the Hotel Metropole, Brookfield, Ma. Circa 1860
Double sided, 36" high by 60" wide. This wood sign retains much of its
origin black and gold paint. Original hand forged hanging brackets.
Minor age cracks.
Two photographs are submitted as provanance to the origin of the sign.
One photo pictures the actual Metropole hotel. The other photo of the
actual sign, (pointing to the hotel), is clearly identified behind a
Brookfield Fire Steamer, (a mid 19th c. horse-drawn fire-pumper).
